I don't want to waste another moment of my life without you in it.
It wasn’t the transcendent experience for me that friends have raved about, but Garden State was a quality flick nonetheless. I think because I’m not much for pot or sedation, and because my quarter life crisis was more about careening down possibly the wrong career path instead of about making a choice at all, the film didn’t resonate with me like it apparently has with others. But I’m a sucker for quirky movies with luscious soundtracks. And for Natalie Portman, who shines as always. Her ear tug signal just killed me. I have to say, though, that seeing the trailer really does spoil all the surprises, they put far too many of the important moments in it, so when I was in the theater I knew what was coming most of the time. Which wasn’t very much fun. But I did enjoy Method Man stealing possibly the most random scene ever in a date movie. Listen to Nick Drake.
