Indy’s Finest and I finally made it over to Rolling Bones on our lunch hour yesterday, enjoying a flawless Atlanta spring afternoon down in the Sweet Auburn district with some kickass barbecue. Sorry Mom, but you no longer hold the title of making the best beef brisket I’ve ever had.

Amerie, "1 Thing" – Goddam, which is sexier, Amerie or that drum groove? Producer Rich Harrison chopped up and pieced back together just a few seconds from the legendary Meters’ "Oh, Calcutta!", with Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste on drums and Leo Neocentelli on guitar. The result is a beat that has me making come faces when I play it, which is definitely the mark of a great drum groove.

The Coral, "In The Morning" – My American friends, make a note of this one, in about 6 months it will be all over the damn place. My British friends already have this one all over the damn place. How you can come up with such a bright and sunny track living in Merseyside I can’t tell you, but I like it more every time I listen to it, which has been a whole lot in the last week or so.
