Oh The Itis
It was time to bring on a case of The Itis last night, so we headed over to Mulligan’s in Oakhurst for a matchup with the infamous Luther Burger. A bacon cheeseburger with a grilled Krispy Kreme doughnut in lieu of a regular bun. Unfortunately, I have to say that I was underwhelmed. The large burger totally overpowers the Krispy Kreme, so there wasn’t enough sweet to balance the meat, and the burger itself was only average at best. It doesn’t come close to the nirvana that is the Ghetto Burger at Ann’s Snack Bar, or even any of the burger options at the Vortex. At least I can say I’ve survived it. The Hamdog remains on my to-do list. Other than that, Mulligan’s is definitely a dive bar and a half, just like I like it, and Oakhurst has become a fun little neighborhood over in the Dec.
